Broulee Public School held a walkathon on Friday to raise money for resources for the school. Our P&C Gonski Sub-Committee set up a table there where we launched Broulee's Gonski Story, handed out brochures and asked people to sign the I Give a Gonski petition. Many parents, grandparents and community members took brochures, stickers and our Gonski Story, and signed up to support us. Thanks to those who helped out on the day and before hand. I couldn't have done it without you, especially Tania and Gayle and the friendly balloon pumpers! This is not a party political issue. It's for all politicians in power to invest in education for Australia to improve equity so all children have the same opportunities to succeed. We want all political parties to support the full 6 years of Gonski funding so our schools are properly resourced to help every child who needs extra learning assistance. This investment would bring positive change for generations to come, and economically the returns would be greater than if we don't invest now. In the words of Nelson Mandela: "Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world." We invite you to support your children and your school too. This one and a half minute video shows easy ways to send your message: The I Give a Gonski petition is here: Jesse Rowan wrote a Letter to the Editor, Bay Post, in response to the May Budget.
